Ars Metallica by Romanian jewelry designer Alina Alamorean now exhibiting at the Galerie BSL in Paris, France through May 14, 2011.
Her sculptural jewelry is both rebellious and takes its shapes from art and architecture. Inspired by Zaha Hadid, Ron Arad, Frank Gehry, Frank Lloyd Wright, she combines blackened silver with mirror-finished silver and unpolished stones lie naked to reveal their natural defects.
“My jewelry is always voluminous: the pieces can be envisaged infinitely larger still, like geometrical and voluptuous objects. I do not want to adorn anyone, I do however aim to inspire a way of thinking, living and breathing,” she says.
