Michael Bilotta, surreal art:
A series of images using red balloons to represent innocence, lost innocence, youth, and fleeting opportunity.
“My entire life has been an experiment with a variety of creative outlets and media. However, I think I am at heart a frustrated wanna-be painter!
My first love was film and fantasy, and I used to draw/sketch and thought I would go into art/design. Then music hit me and I was compelled to follow that to the Berklee College of Music. I started writing songs and finding my voice in that, releasing 2 CD’s of original music. When digital photography and Photoshop came my way, my first love came back to me. Now I can take photos and push them more into the painting aesthetic that I could never achieve in my drawing.”

Artist Dito Von Tease takes a picture of his index finger and then uses computer software to add features that make them immediately recognisable as famous faces. His portraits include impressive depictions of historic figures such as Ronald McDonald and Chairman Mao to characters including Shrek and Hello Kitty.

Amir Zainorin
Amir Zainorin: Postcard Series:
Malaysian artist Amir Zainorin, who now splits his time between his country of origin and Denmark, likes to urge the viewers of his art to challenge the traditional notions of religion and identity in relation to globalization.
In his Postcard Series, Zainorin copied the images of Mao, Queen Elizabeth, and George Washington from the Chinese Yuan, the British Pound, and the U.S. Dollar, respectively. Using postcards collected from restaurants and galleries, Amir pinned these cards creating the currency portraits.

The postcards are pinned on to the wall while the rest are laid down on the floor. This gives the work a mortality or temporary status in which it occupies the space for only a period of time, just like a system, an empire or a person, [Mao, the Queen, and Washington]. After some time they are remembered in history books, on paper currencies, posters, stamps or on a postcard.

Wine cork art by Scott Gundersen:
“Trisha” is a portrait made of 3,621 used/recycled wine corks.
On top of a primed wood backing I created a graphite drawing of my friend Grace. 17,000 nails were shot through the back of the drawing so that I could have complete freedom in placing the 9,217 corks.
