Baltimore based artist Joseph Parra creates life-size
portraits, employing a rigorous process of blending printmaking, digital printing, drawing and painting before disfiguring the faces of his subjects. This
violence creates an unsettling energy, exploring the perilous realm of identity
within the looming space of the large works. As modern portraiture, the work
succeeds in confronting the viewer and asking them to connect to the marred,
burned and at times, abstracted faces of a lost generation. Take a peek at more
